Frequently Asked Questions

We offer a variety of dance classes including ballet, musical theatre/jazz, contemporary/lyrical, hip hop, and tap.  We also offer special one-time master classes that are open to all not just our registered students.   We also offer various events for technique and development throughout the year again open to all not just registered students. 

Our classes are open to all dancers at any age or level of skill.  We believe all base classes should contain both recreational and competition students to allow bonding and friendships.  Everyone should learn technique and benefit from the athleticism dance offers.  If you wish to pursue a competition team you are welcome to audition and  take a competition class for further training and preparations. 

We offer teams based on age and skill level.  Typically competitions follow age and skill brackets based on the following groups, 7-9 ages, 9-12 ages, 13-16 ages and 18 and up are considered adults.  We currently offer teams at each age group and two levels of skill per age group.  There is a competition team and a company team.  Both levels require an audition to review the students level of skill and performance. 

We offer classes for dancers ages 3 and up and are especially proud of our adult dance teams.  Whether you are new, a current dancer, or returning after a break there is a place here for you at MCDC to train and love dance again. 

Yes, we have a dress code to ensure that all dancers are dressed appropriately for class. We encourage athletic apparel and proper dance shoes that are appropriate for the class.   Feel free to inquire further if you have any needs that require specific apparel.
